State Road 9/I-95 at PGA Boulevard/Central Boulevard Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking infrastructure solutions that could reduce congestion and improve mobility in the northern Palm Beach County area, within the City of Palm Beach Gardens. As the major north‐south artery in north Palm Beach County, Interstate 95/State Road 9 (I‐95) access influences adjacent highway network roadway operating conditions. This combined with existing high density commercial/retail development of regional impact along with future planned development have created the need for additional transportation solutions. One solution FDOT is exploring is added interchange access within the City of Palm Beach Gardens at Central Boulevard. Modifications to the PGA Boulevard and Military Trail interchange are also being studied.
The I-95 at Central Boulevard Interchange Project has been approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). FHWA granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance (LDCA) for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study prepared for the interchange project on November 28, 2016.
